Hi Gaya,

Thanks for your response. The model and product is the HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer.

The issue stared a few weeks ago. After rebooting the printer per online instruction, it works for about 1 minute until a blue flashing screen reappears with the B8E8EC18 code. Upon resetting the printer, having my IT team try to download the updated drivers the issue persists.

Thanks,

Hi @DK2028 ,

Thank you for your reply

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the error code B8E4BC18 on your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer, accompanied by a blue flashing screen, which typically indicates a firmware issue, a hardware failure, or a corrupted internal component.

Recommended Steps to Resolve:

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 2–3 minutes.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • If the printer works briefly before showing the error, use that window to update its firmware.
  • Download the latest firmware from the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware.

Perform a Semi-Full Reset

  • Unplug the printer while it is on.
  • Press and hold the Power and Cancel buttons.
  • While holding the buttons, plug the printer back into the power outlet.
  • Continue holding for 10–15 seconds before releasing the buttons.

Check for Connectivity Issues

  • Ensure the printer is not overloaded with queued print jobs.
  • Disconnect the printer from your network temporarily (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) to see if it stabilizes in offline mode.

Reinstall the Printer Drivers

  • Completely uninstall the current printer software and drivers from your computer.
  • Download the latest HP Smart app and drivers for the ENVY Photo 7855 from the HP website.
  • Reinstall the drivers and re-add the printer.

Inspect the Hardware

  • Open the printer and check for any visible hardware issues, such as paper jams, damaged ink cartridges, or loose connections.
  • Make sure the printhead and cartridges are seated correctly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
