Error code  OXB832CFD8 just appeared on the screen of my Envy 4527 printer.

Have searched and apparently it needs a reset but it needs to be particular to the individual printer. Any ideas on how to resolve please?

Hi @kez34

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The OXB832CFD8 error code on your HP Envy 4527 printer typically indicates an issue with the printer's internal software, which might require a reset to resolve. This kind of error can also occur due to a jam, an issue with the print queue, or a communication problem between the printer and your computer.

Here are steps you can follow to try and fix the issue:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

A hard reset can often resolve many error codes by rebooting the printer and clearing temporary errors.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  3. Leave it unplugged for about 30 seconds to a minute.
  4. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  5. Wait for the printer to fully power on and check if the error code disappears.

2. Clear the Print Queue

Sometimes the error code might be caused by a stalled print job in the queue.

  1. On your computer, go to the Devices and Printers section.
  2. Right-click on your HP Envy 4527 printer and select See what's printing.
  3. If there are any stuck print jobs, cancel them and clear the queue.
  4. Try printing again to see if the error is resolved.

3. Check for Paper Jams

The error code might also be related to a paper jam. Make sure the printer is free of any obstructions.

  1. Open the printer's front panel and check for any paper jams or debris.
  2. Remove any paper stuck in the printer, making sure the rollers and paper path are clear.
  3. Close the panel and try printing again.

4. Update Printer Firmware

An outdated firmware version can sometimes cause issues with error codes.

  1. Check for a firmware update for your printer through the HP Smart app or HP Support website.
  2. Follow the instructions to update the firmware if an update is available.

5. Reset Printer to Factory Settings

If the error persists, a factory reset might be needed. This will erase all custom settings, so use this option as a last resort.

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. On the printer’s control panel, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for about 10 seconds.
  3. You should see a reset confirmation message on the screen.
  4. After the reset, follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your response.

I wasn't doing any printing when the error message came up on the printer display panel. It just started flashing. So nothing in the print queue, no paper jams etc,

Before you responded, I turned the printer off and on (without unplugging) and the error message disappeared.

I have since printed a couple of pages.

Weird, just for reference to anyone here from searching this error code:  I have an HP Envy 4520 and just had this message show up while the printer was not being used.  I restarted the printer while I began searching the error code and found this message.  My error code was gone when the printer had come back on after being restarted.  Let's hope that was the end of this!
