@Lipid, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
The error code OXB87868C2 on your HP OfficeJet 8015e typically indicates a firmware or internal hardware issue, often related to the printhead or ink system. Let’s try the following steps to resolve it:
Power Reset the Printer
This clears temporary memory and can often resolve internal errors.
- Turn the printer ON (if it’s not already).
- Disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer without turning it off.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall and then into the printer.
- Turn the printer ON and check if the error persists.
Check for Ink Cartridge or Printhead Issues
- Open the ink cartridge access door.
- Remove and reinsert the cartridges to ensure proper contact.
- Check for any visible ink leaks or damage.
- Close the door and see if the error clears.
Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause system errors.
- Use the HP Smart app or visit the HP Software & Driver Downloads page to check for updates.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest firmware.
Use HP Smart’s Diagnose & Fix Tool (Windows/macOS)
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Click on “Printer Settings” > “Advanced Settings”.
- Select “Diagnose & Fix” to let HP automatically detect and resolve issues.
Factory Reset (if issue persists)
If none of the above steps work, a factory reset may help. Please note this will erase all settings:
- On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
If the issue continues after these steps, it may indicate a hardware failure. In that case, we suggest you please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
