@TommyM1, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug it from the power source and wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn the printer on again to see if the error clears.
Check Ink Cartridges
- Open the printer’s ink cartridge access door.
- Make sure the cartridges are installed correctly and securely. Remove and reinstall them to ensure they are seated properly.
- Inspect the ink cartridges for any visible damage or leaks. Replace any damaged cartridges.
Check for Paper Jams
- Look for any paper jams in the printer, especially around the ink cartridge area.
- Carefully remove any stuck paper, taking care not to tear it inside the printer.
Perform a Printer Reset
- If the power cycle didn’t help, reset the printer to restore it to default settings.
- Refer to the printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset. Typically, this can be done via the printer’s control panel or through the printer’s settings menu.
Update Printer Firmware
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. Check HP’s official website for firmware updates for your specific printer model.
- You can update firmware either via the printer's settings menu or using the HP Smart app on your computer or smartphone.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue
