Hi @WesleyTeaberry

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The E0 error code on your HP OfficeJet 4158e typically indicates a paper jam or a mechanical issue related to the paper feeding or printing process. To resolve this issue, follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Check for Paper Jams

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the printer’s front panel and check for any paper jams. Look for any stuck paper in the input tray, output tray, and especially in the paper path (where the paper moves through the printer).
  • Carefully remove any paper you find jammed. Be sure not to tear the paper inside the printer.
  • Also, check inside the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) for any paper that could be stuck.

2. Inspect the Paper Path

  • Open the rear access door (if applicable) and check for any paper debris or jammed paper.
  • Remove any paper fragments, dust, or debris that might obstruct the paper feed.

3. Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

  • Dirty or worn paper feed rollers can cause paper to get stuck or cause misfeeds. If accessible, gently clean the rollers with a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water. Be careful not to damage the rollers.

4. Reset the Printer

  • After checking and clearing any paper jams or debris, turn the printer back on.
  • Perform a reset to clear the error code:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Wait for 1-2 minutes, then plug the printer back in and turn it on.

5. Check for Incorrect Paper Type or Size

  • Ensure that the paper loaded in the input tray is correctly aligned and of the correct size for the printer.
  • Sometimes, if the paper is too thick, too thin, or not properly aligned, it can cause feeding issues.

6. Firmware Update

  • Check if there are any available firmware updates for your printer that may resolve this error code. You can update the firmware via the HP Smart app or the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
