HP OfficeJet 3830

I replaced my ink cartridges with HP replacement catridges and was able to print. Then a week later this error message popped up and will not stop. I left the printer unplugged for a week and it did not help. How do I get the message to go away?

@Ashann12,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps and check whether the issue is resolved.

1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

2. Remove USB cable, if present.

3. Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

4. Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

5. Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

If you continue facing the same issue, I am sending you a private message suggesting the next course of action.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thanks for the steps   that  have  been  outlined  for   ridding  the  error  but  even  after  following  all  the  steps  the   issue  persists  and  the   error  code  continues  to  flash .  Is  there  any  other  way  I  can  get  around  to   fixing  the  problem  .  The  printer  has  been  given  the  idle  warming  up  time  but  the   same  error  code  still   stays   and  does not  go  away  .

I am getting the code, but none of the actions are working.  Is there a reset button buried somewhere in the hardware?

I should add that I installed a compatible cartridge.  Not only did it kill my 3830, it killed a second one.
