Welcome to HP Support Community, @Shay108

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

1. Basic Steps

1.1 Power Cycle

Turn off the printer.

Unplug the power cord for 60 seconds.

Plug it back in and turn on.

1.2 Disconnect Accessories

Remove USB cables, network cables, USB drives, or memory cards.

Try booting the printer without any external device connected.

1.3 Button & Screen Check

Make sure no button is stuck.

Clean the touchscreen if it’s unresponsive or glitchy.

2. Hardware Reset
2.1 Hard / Cold Reset

Power off and unplug the printer.

Hold the power button 15–30 seconds.

Reconnect the power and turn it back on.

2.2 Remove Consumables

Remove:

Ink cartridges

Paper tray

Any paper inside the printer

Check for:

Paper fragments

Obstructions

Any foreign objects

3. Software-Level Fix
3.1 Firmware Update / Recovery

If the printer boots far enough to allow:

Try updating firmware via the printer menu, HP Smart app, or USB recovery.

If a previous update failed, it may need firmware reflash.

3.2 Embedded Web Server (if accessible)

If the printer connects to Wi-Fi:

Open the printer IP address in a browser.

Check for internal error logs.

4. Advanced / Likely Causes

If the error appears immediately after boot and stays:

4.1 Possible Hardware Failure

Mainboard/logic board fault

Internal power supply issue

Sensor or controller malfunction

Hex codes that begin with 0xB9… usually point to:

General firmware crash

Mainboard processing error

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
