I keep my printer on at all times as recommended by HP Instant Ink. This morning I saw an error message on display screen that was not there the night before.  0XB3B94C8.  No print jobs were sent to printer over night.

I turned printer off and back on. Error code didn't come back.  Printer and scanner both working okay.

HP Print and Scan Doctor says all is fine.

What does the code signify and is it something I should be concerned about?

Hi @ThomS,

I'd like to help!

Let's try a power reset on the printer to resolve the error

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Please send us a private message with your Instant Ink account details or you may also respond to the private message I've sent out and I'll help you out, accordingly. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hoping to help someone here that had the same issues with error codes being displayed on printer while back arrow and home buttons flashed. Very frustrating...I tried ALL the ideas posted here to no avail. Then I tripped over a post from someone that actually managed to get through to an HP technician and this suggestion WORKED !

All that was suggested to do was to use the touchpad on the printer...

 select SETUP

      then TOOLS

      then RESTORE DEFAULT

     then.. "YES"

... and magically the printer reset itself.  It has been working fine (and no error codes for over 24 hours). Hope that this helps someone else who has been struggling with this !
