Every print job that I send to the printer over 2 or 3 pages in length, I receive an error message that the job can not be printed. The print job does print. But then the job sits in the queue until I run the print doctor to clear the queue. The printer works but it is very annoying to run a print job and then run print doctor to fix the errors. I did not have this problem with my windows 10 machine. My windows 11 machine is new, not an upgraded windows 10 machine.

Hi @berich56,
Thank you for letting me know, in this case I would request you to perform a root level installation of the drivers from the Pc and try once please.
uninstall the printer driver
1. In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2. Look for HP Printer software.
3. Right-click to uninstall.
4. In the search box, type and open “Devices and printers”.
5. In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6. Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7. Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8. Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9. Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it, click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10. Select Ok.
11. Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12. Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.
13. Restart the computer.
Then download HP Easy Start from the below link: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/HPEasyStart_11_5_4644_17.exe
and run HP Easy Start and have to select Full Software and install the printer
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi @berich56,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with the HP Smart Tank 7602 where print jobs appear stuck in the queue, but the job prints, and you have to use HP Print & Scan Doctor each time to clear it, but the problem persists. I’m sorry for the inconvenience. Let’s work together to troubleshoot this further. Could you confirm if you’re receiving any specific error messages, and have you tried reinstalling the printer drivers?
Please try the troubleshooting steps and resolve this issue:
1. Check the Print Queue:
- Open the Print Queue: Search for "Printers & Scanners" in the Windows taskbar, select your printer, and then choose "Open print queue".
- Identify the Stuck Job: Locate the print job that is stuck in the queue.
- Pause or Cancel: Right-click the job and select "Pause" or "Cancel".
2. Manually Clear the Print Queue (Advanced):
- Stop the Print Spooler:
- Open the Services window (search for "services.msc").
- Locate "Print Spooler" and right-click, then select "Stop".
- Delete Print Jobs:
- Open File Explorer and navigate to: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS.
- Delete any files related to the stuck print job(s).
- Restart the Print Spooler:
- Open the Services window again (search for "services.msc").
Locate "Print Spooler" and right-click, then select "Start".

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your response. I'm sorry it took me a couple of days to respond. I didn't have any print jobs to run until today, to see if I still have a problem. I ran a couple of the print jobs today and again I got the error message that the job could not be printed. As the printer printed the jobs, but this time they did not stay in the queue. So improvement? :-}
I was looking to see if there was a "permanent" solution to my print problem. I run HP Print and Scan Doctor to clear out the print queue when jobs get stuck.
Thank you for your help.
Have a great day.
