officejet pro 8600 n911g
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Officejet pro 8600 n911g. Bought in 2012. One morning I turned on my printer and got this error message: printhead appears to be missing, not detected or incorrectly installed.  There had been no upgrades and had been working fine until this point. I unplugged and reinstalled old printhead 3 times as per HP instructions. Borrowed working printhead from another machine and went through the same procedure and the borrowed printhead did not work either.  Still got the same error message.  Thank you for whatever help you can give me.

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

 

Make sure you have tried the steps mentioned in this document - Error Indicates Faulty Printhead

 

If the error persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue with the printer. Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer. 

 

If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
