HP Officejet 6000 Printer - E609a
macOS 12.0 Monterey

the printer is an HP Officejet 6000 E609 series. It prints just fine from my dying 3 year old Macbook Pro. But on my new Macbook Pro, it won't print anything except the Diagnostic Report, which looks great. No issues. Here is the error message I get when I try to print on the new computer: "Stopped - 'filter' failed"

I tried unplugging the printer, turning my laptop off, all to no avail.

Hi @DianeEmerson1,

Let’t try resetting the printer system and then reinstall the printer driver as following:

*Be aware that resetting the printer system will remove any existing print queue and reset any customized driver settings.

Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences .
Select Printers & Scanners.
Right-click (or Ctrl + click) your product in the Printers list in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system .
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type your user Name and Password .
Click OK . The printing system resets.

Next, try following the Resolution section below, I believe this should help:
