@Lyn-c1076, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Check Paper Alignment
- Ensure the paper is properly loaded in the input tray. Paper should be stacked neatly and should not exceed the maximum paper level indicator.
- Check if the paper is aligned straight and not skewed or misaligned.
- If you are using smaller-sized paper (like photo paper), ensure that the tray's paper guide is adjusted properly for the specific size.
Paper Tray Issues
- Paper Tray Placement: Ensure the paper tray is fully inserted into the printer.
- Tray Sensor: There may be an issue with the paper tray sensor. Make sure nothing is blocking or obstructing it.
Clear Paper Jam or Blockage
- Open the printer’s paper tray and check for any paper jams or foreign objects that may be obstructing the paper path.
- Look for any paper pieces that might be stuck inside the printer (both in the paper tray and inside the printer).
- Gently remove any stuck paper from the printer.
Check the Paper Type and Quality
- Ensure that the paper you are using is compatible with your printer (e.g., not too thick or glossy unless supported).
- If you're using old or damp paper, replace it with fresh, dry paper.
Reset the Printer
- Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source for about 30 seconds. This will reset the printer’s internal sensors.
- After 30 seconds, plug the printer back in and turn it on. Check if the error message persists.

Clean the Paper Feed Rollers
- Over time, the paper feed rollers inside the printer can accumulate dust or debris, causing the printer to misinterpret the paper status.
- Gently clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water. Allow them to dry before testing the printer.
Check Printer Settings and Software
- Printer Queue: Sometimes, print jobs get stuck in the queue. Open the print queue on your computer, cancel any pending jobs, and try printing again.
- Printer Software Update: Make sure your printer’s software/firmware is up to date. Sometimes, updates can fix such errors.
- Printer Settings: On your computer, ensure the correct paper size and type are selected in the print dialog box.
Test with Another Paper
- If the printer still shows the "Empty Paper" message, try using a different brand or type of paper (for example, a different weight or texture) to ensure it's not a paper-related issue.
Perform a Factory Reset (as a last resort)
- If nothing else works, you can perform a factory reset on your HP ENVY Pro 6452 printer. This will return all settings to their default configuration, which might clear any configuration issues.
- How to reset: Go to the printer’s settings menu and look for an option to restore factory settings. Refer to the printer’s manual for specific instructions.
