I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8020e and am getting an event code: 80.62.24 saying there is a problem with the printhead.  Have never seen this before.  What does it mean?

Hi @ColePJ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code you're seeing on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020e, "80.62.24," indicates an issue with the printhead. This error typically suggests that there might be a problem with the printhead itself or its connection to the printer.

Here's what you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Turn off your printer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on.
  • Check Printhead Connections: Make sure the printhead is properly seated in its carriage and that there are no loose connections. If you recently installed a new printhead, ensure it is compatible with your printer model.
  • Clean the Printhead: Ink buildup or debris on the printhead nozzles can cause printing issues. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to clean the printhead properly.
  • Update Firmware and Software: Ensure your printer's firmware and driver software are up to date. Sometimes, updating these components can resolve compatibility issues or bugs causing the error.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
