6220 Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Every time I sent a print job to my new printer 6220 I get a message saying - Out of paper. However it goes ahead and prints. How do I stop this message.

I see that you are getting a false error message. Are you using the HP Smart app to print?

Do you see this message on the printer screen or the computer?

 

Make sure the paper is loaded correctly. Refer to - Loading Paper, Cards, Envelopes

 

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - An 'Out of Paper' error displays, printer does not pick paper

 

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your PC.
