@Dhc2025, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding How to Fix an "Encryption Credentials Expired" Error on HP Printers in macOS!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

When an "Encryption Credentials Expired" error displays on your HP printer while printing from macOS, it is typically caused by an expired Embedded Web Server (EWS) certificate. Here’s how to resolve this issue by generating a new self-signed certificate from the EWS:

Open the HP Smart Application:

  • Search for and open the HP Smart app.
  • If you do not have HP Smart, download the free app from 123.hp.com or your app store.

Access Printer Settings:

  • From the homepage of the HP Smart app, select your printer's name or image.
  • Select "Printer Settings".

Open Advanced Settings or EWS:

  • Select "Advanced Settings" or "Embedded Web Service (EWS)".
  • If a login or certificate window displays, complete the information to open EWS.

Generate a New Certificate:

  • Select "Network Summary".
  • From the General Network Summary page, scroll down to select "Security".
  • Click "Certificates".
  • Select "Configure", then "Create a New Self-Signed Certificate".
  • Click "Next" to create a new self-signed certificate.
  • Click the "Finish" button and close EWS.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
