Hi... I have the same issue.
I moved house and I am unable to connect to the wireless in the new house. It appears the printer is remembering the old network details and not allowing me to reset the default.
I have tried to drain the power as suggested but that hasn't helped.
It may need to be reset to factory settings through an alternative way.
Cheers,
Conor

,
Good Day. Thank you for taking an interest in the HP community. I understand that you require assistance regarding issues with connecting the printer to the network. I will be really glad to assist you here. Fabulous description and superb diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂
To assist you with accurate information I would require more information regarding this:
- What is the status of the Wireless light is it blinking or Steady?
For now, try these steps:
- Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
- Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight into a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
- Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.
- On the printer control panel - Scroll down to Wireless - Under Wireless check for Wireless test, If available go ahead and run the test.
- If this option is not available, I would suggest you try to follow the steps to perform a semi-full reset on the printer.
- I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen. This is a semi-full reset to factory settings.

- Link 2: http://hp.care/2BFzuq7 (user guide) refer to the manual on page 5-7 on how to use different methods to set up the wireless network.
- Link 3: http://hp.care/2sIZD4n (HP Printers - Changing from a USB to a Wireless Connection) you could use this link to change the USB connection to a wireless connection by performing the prescribed steps.
Please perform all these steps one at a time patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient and if any of these steps fix it, then ignore the remaining links.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care now and have a superb week ahead. 🙂
