I have a chronic and false "Document Feeder Jam" on my M177fw printer.  There is no Jammed paper or other material in the feeder.  I did a hard reset on the printer.  I've updated the firmware & software.  The Jam message happens instantly and the document doesn't even attempt to feed into the feeder.  I push OK, but the message does not clear until I unplug the printer and plug it back in.  The copier will make a copy fine if I use the single scan feature, but it will not work if I use the document feeder.  Please Help!

@DGB66, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

I understand you are having a false error on the printer. Are you able to print from a computer?

 

Make sure you have tried the steps mentioned in this document - 'Original Jam: Clear jam, and then press OK' Displays for the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw Print... and Solve Paper Feed or Paper Jam Issues

 

If the issue persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue with the document feeder. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service options for your printer. 

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.
