Microsoft Windows 11

HP LaserJet Pro P1102W Printer:  The printer will print a normal page very nicely.  When I try to print a page of labels, I get an orange "Out of Paper" light on the printer, even though there is paper in the printer.  Why am I getting this false warning?  How do I get the printer to print labels?

The error is not false in the sense that the printer cannot match the paper in the required in settings to the paper loaded in the printer.

 

This "out of paper" message might be a result of having lost use of the Full Feature / Full Solution Software when you moved to Windows 11.  According to the listing in Software and Drivers, not even the Windows Drivers are available to support the printer in Windows 11.  The printer cannot see (detect) what you are doing.

 

What?

Windows 10 supported the Full Solution / full driver printer software.

The printer is not supported in Windows 11.

 

Yeah, but...

If the printer is on the network,

If EWS is still supported,

Try setting the paper size & type using the Tray and Paper setup.

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

 

EWS – Browser – Tray and Paper Management

 

Open your favorite browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)

Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type

Model Dependent:  Advanced section

Click Apply to save changes
