HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276n

Following a recent print job (where 2 pages came through at once, but did not get stuck) I'm getting an error message "Jam in output bin". I've checked front and back doors, emptied the paper drawer, and cleaned the back roller, and done a hard power cable out/back-in restart several times - but no luck. Anything else you can suggest please? (I don't have admin rights to perform a troubleshoot programme as I'm working off a work laptop.)

Hi @JenP20,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's unfortunate that you're facing an issue with your HP LaserJet Pro 200 Color MFP M276n. Here are a few additional steps you can take to try and resolve the "Jam in output bin" error.

Inspect the Output Bin:

  • Open the output bin and carefully inspect it for any paper jams or obstructions.
  • Look for small pieces of torn paper that may be causing the sensor to detect a jam.

Check the Fuser Area:

  • The fuser is responsible for fixing the toner to the paper. Ensure that the fuser area is clear of any paper.
  • Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to access the fuser area.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes.
  • Plug it back in, turn it on, and see if the error persists.

Update Firmware:

  • Visit the official HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer.
  • If possible, update the firmware to ensure that your printer has the latest software improvements.

Manual Sensor Check:

  • Manually check the sensors in the output bin area. Ensure they are not blocked or damaged.
  • If possible, use a can of compressed air to blow out any dust or debris that may be affecting sensor functionality.

Printer Self-Test:

  • Perform a printer self-test to check if the printer can successfully complete a test print job without reporting any errors.
  • Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to initiate a self-test.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
