Hi @KBRD6,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing a false paper jam issue with your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw, try the following steps:
Check for Any Remaining Debris: Even though you cleaned the rollers, make sure there are no small pieces of paper or debris inside the printer. Look carefully in all accessible areas.
Inspect All Paper Paths: Ensure all paper paths are clear. Check the input and output trays, and any additional paper trays.
Verify the Paper Tray: Ensure the paper tray is properly seated and aligned. Sometimes, if the tray is not fully inserted, it can trigger a false paper jam error.
Check the Fuser Unit: The fuser unit can sometimes cause false jams if it is not properly seated. Make sure it is correctly installed.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 30 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Update Firmware: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve false error issues. Update the firmware on an HP printer
Perform a Printer Self-Test:
- Go to the printer’s control panel.
- Navigate to the Setup menu and select "Print Quality."
- Choose "Print Test Page" or "Print Configuration Page." This can help diagnose if the printer itself is detecting any issues.
