Hi

This post is about a faulty black 364 ink cartridge rather than a printer problem as such but hopefully someone can help.

I bought a pack of genuine HP all colours some months ago from Wilko, installed them in the printer & the first copy out had the black printing poorly, second copy no black at all. I tried all the procedures ie; cleaning, aligning etc, over & over again, all to no avail, even tried a method of cleaning the head found on the internet using surgical spirit, but still no black!

I assumed it to be a printer problem & decided to leave it for now as I'm not a big user for printing more for the scanning & possibly buy another printer after Christmas.  However, speaking to a friend recently about this issue he offered to drop his black  364 cartridge into my machine & it worked perfectly so I bought a single black & that too works fine.

So, my question is there any redress I can get from HP regarding this faulty cartridge.  Having thrown away the receipt from Wilko as it was some months ago & I guess they would'nt be interested anyway after all this time.  I have virtually exhausted all the colours trying to get the black to work which was down to this dodgy cartridge and as you all know, ink ain't cheap!

I found a thread posted similar to this where an HP employee private messaged back but the thread was now closed.

I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks

Thanks Senan6806.

Having put in all the relevent info, I tried several times to contact HP UK through to a chat line but with no success, also it appears the only way I can phone is to pay for after sales support which clearly is not worth doing.

So it looks like I'll just have to 'suck it up' and absorb the cost. Not the best customer relations for a big international company.

Appreciate the time you've taken to reply.
