The printer was functioning perfectly until the firmware was updated. Now the printer is stating that it is blocking non-HP cartridges.

 

Please provide firmware that allows non-HP cartridges to function or a link to free HP cartridges to use in the printer. Either solution is acceptable. Unacceptable solutions include purchasing original inks.

Having been in direct contact with HP regarding this issue, this problem is now solved, but not to my satisfaction.

The affected printers have been recycled and 6 replacement Epsons printers have been put in their place.

I have determined that the issue is due to "Dynamic Security".

 

Please advise on how to disable it.

i- I installed new ink cartridges. They are ordered to fit my printer with all spesific detailed given. But I get ab error message with the content: "Theees cartridges are blocke by the printer, because they have an chcip that is not from HP....".

 

Please give me an guide for disable the Dynamic Protection!

 

My Printer is: HP officejet Pro 6970. The cartridges has ID 903.

 

The warrenty is out and is of no interest.

HP told me that firmware that does not include "Dynamic Security" was not available for this printer, and that I should use original HP cartridges. I have replaced all of the affected HP printers with Epson Workforce printers with cartridge chips that can be reset. I have emptied all of the non-genuine ink cartridges into 5 litre containers for reuse when the Epson cartridges empty.

 

As I said, this issue was not resolved to my satisfaction, but at least HP did come clean and make it clear that the firmware is designed so you can only use their cartridges.

 

Don't bother with the stress on this issue. Just throw the printer away and buy a different brand that gives you flexibility. It's not worth the grey hair.
