@MandiNZ, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're seeing a flashing orange light on your HP LaserJet M110we, and the printer is unable to print except for reports. Let's work together to resolve this.

Check HP Smart Account Status

This model is part of the HP+ program, which requires the printer to be connected to your HP Smart account.

  • Visit www.hpsmart.com and sign in with the account used during printer setup.
  • Ensure the printer is claimed and connected to the internet.
  • If the printer is not listed, add it using the HP Smart app on your phone or PC.

Check for Paper Jam or Obstructions

  • Open the paper tray and toner access door.
  • Remove any jammed paper or debris.
  • Reinsert the toner cartridge and close all doors securely.

Verify Toner Cartridge Installation

  • Remove the toner cartridge and check for any protective tape or packaging.
  • Reinstall it firmly until it clicks into place.

Ensure All Doors and Trays Are Properly Closed

  • A loose door or tray can trigger the orange light.
  • Double-check that everything is securely closed.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Open the HP Smart app, select your printer, and go to Advanced Settings > Printer Updates.
  • Install any available updates.

Factory Reset (if needed)

If the issue persists, you may try a factory reset:

  • Press and hold the Cancel and Wi-Fi buttons together for 10 seconds until the printer restarts.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Max3Aj

This issue took a bit more work... all doors fine and toner box correctly seated.

The firmware would not update....

I fixed it by doing the following.

1) Factory Reset, reconnected to the printer ... still flashing Orange

2) Firmware update... this took a couple of attempts to get downloaded... but still flashing Orange

3) 2nd Factory reset ... still flashing Orange

3) 3rd Factory reset and all working again!

Thankyou for your help
