HP ENVY 6458e printer......get flashing lights and reference to error 6 but have been unable to resolve this....HELP!!

I understand the flashing lights and "Error 6" on your HP ENVY 6458e All-in-One Printer could indicate a hardware or communication issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the problem:
 

1. Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.

2. Check for Paper Jams

  • Open the paper tray and access panels to check for any paper jams.
  • Even a small piece of paper stuck inside can trigger an error.
  • Ensure the paper is loaded properly and not stuck in the rollers.

3. Reset the Printer

  • Press and hold the Power button for 15-30 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on to see if the error clears.

4. Check Ink Cartridges

  • Open the printer and ensure that both the black and color ink cartridges are installed correctly.
  • Remove and reinstall the cartridges to ensure good contact with the printer.
  • Clean the cartridges and the printhead if necessary.

5. Update Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Connect your printer to your computer via USB or Wi-Fi.
  • Visit HP's support page and download the latest firmware for your printer.
  • Follow the instructions to update the firmware, which might resolve the error.

6. Hard Reset

  • Unplug the printer while it's on.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in and power it up. This resets the printer's internal components.
