just want to write this frustrating discovery I have had with my printer. So before I upgraded my Mac OS to Catalina, it was working just fine on Mojave OS for my MacBook Air. Then I ran into some issues while upgrading to OS Catalina, I decided to reinstall (clean) Mac OS Catalina, which means I lost some of the applications like HP EasyScan and HP Utility, and some another apps.

My printer is out of warranty but I stayed up all night last night figuring out why flatbed won't scan anything. Document feeder can scan just fine, so I'm trying to understand why this happens. Can anyone tell me what did it go wrong? Thank you for your help if you knew any.

What I did was: I reset the Printer to factory default, it doesn't work, I reset and erase data contents and settings on the printer and went through the process, and try scanning. it doesn't work. I installed the HP programs the first time, it doesn't work, deleted them, and reinstall them. it still doesn't work.

Hi,

As of now, HP Easy Scan is not compatible with Catalina as listed below:

I suggest using HP Smart or Apple Image Capture instead, till any updates will become available in the future.
