I tried doing exactly as you mentioned, but unfortunately there is no security tab on the ews page. I went in to settings where it asked for my username and password which I don't remember and so clicked on cancel and the security tab appeared under settings. So I clicked on that which gave me 2 options - password settings and administrator settings. When I click on either of them, the pop up box asking for username and password comes up again, so I'm back to square one. Please help.

Thanks for the reply,
Let's restore the printer to the original network settings
Follow the below Key combination to restore the network.
▲ On the printer control panel, press and hold the ( Wireless ) button and the ( Cancel ) button together, approximately five seconds, and then release the buttons.
Then, Connect the printer to the network.
To set up the wireless connection from the printer control panel
Ensure your wireless router or wireless access point has a Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button (a button with the icon or is labeled “WPS”), and that WPS is enabled with WPA encryption.
1. From the printer control panel, press and hold the ( Wireless ) button for three seconds. The Wireless light starts blinking.
2. On the wireless router or wireless access point, press and hold the WPS button for three seconds. Wait for about two minutes. If the printer connects successfully, the Wireless light will stop blinking and remain lit.
3. (Windows): After you have completed the wireless setup, add the printer in your computer by choosing Add a Network Printer from Control Panel, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Now try accessing the Embedded Web Server page.
Keep me posted, how it goes!

A warm welcome to HP Support Community!
Resetting the printer network settings and reconnecting the printer back to your home WiFi should typically remove the EWS(Embedded Web Server) password. Here is how to do it:
1.) On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button
at the same time for 5 seconds. (This steps will restore default wireless settings on the printer and enable Auto Wireless connect. Immediately continue to the next step to install the software. You have approximately 120 minutes to complete the software setup using the HP auto wireless connect feature.)
2.) Download and run HP Easy start from here.
3.) Follow the onscreen instructions to connect the printer to your home wireless network.
Let me know how it goes!
