Hi @Beckett2001,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you have forgotten the password for your HP printer's Wi-Fi Direct or wireless network connection, you can try the following steps to retrieve or reset it:
Steps to Retrieve or Reset HP Printer Wi-Fi Password:
Retrieve Wi-Fi Direct Password (if using Wi-Fi Direct):
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wi-Fi Direct Settings.
- Look for the option to view the Wi-Fi Direct name and password. It might be listed under Wi-Fi Direct Status.
Print Network Configuration Page:
- Many HP printers allow you to print a network configuration page that includes network details.
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Reports > Network Configuration Report or a similar option.
- Look for the network settings on the printed page to find the Wi-Fi Direct password.
Reset Network Settings:
- If you cannot retrieve the password, you can reset the network settings to restore the default Wi-Fi Direct password.
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings or Restore Network Defaults.
- After resetting, reconnect your devices to the printer using the default settings.
Check Printer Manual:
- Refer to your printer’s user manual for specific instructions on how to find or reset the Wi-Fi password. The manual may include model-specific information.
Access Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- If your printer is connected to your network, you can access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to find or reset the Wi-Fi Direct password.
- Find the printer’s IP address by printing a network configuration page.
- Enter the IP address into a web browser to access the EWS.
- Look for Wi-Fi Direct or network settings to view or reset the password.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
