Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

Somehow, I forgot the username and password of the HP Deskjet 3639 EWS.

I can't find a way to reset them or the printer.

I tried holding the power and pressing the cancel button 6 times without success.

I also tried admin and the WPS PIN, but it didn't worked.

How can I reset the printer to default?

Thanks,

Alex

@AlexandruD84, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Restore factory defaults using a DeskJet or ENVY printer control panel.

Open the cartridge access door.

On the control panel, press and hold the Power and Wireless buttons for at least 3 seconds.

After about 20 seconds, close the cartridge access door.

Hello,

I tried this procedure yesterday and also today with someone from support via chat.

I have tried doing all the proposed solutions from this forum, yesterday all day and today.

In the end, the support guy told me to buy another printer because they couldn't help me and mine was out of warranty.

So, I bought another printer (not HP), which actually has the password attached to it, and I have thrown the old one away and will never buy another HP printer or device.

Thanks for your time!

Alex
