Receive "General Printer Error"

0x610000f6

Refer to printer documentation - Touch OK to continue

When I click OK same message each time, virtual support did not help

Sounds like a mechanical issue, not sure what to check, all trays, paper, seem clear of jams etc.

@Castmealine, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to use the printer due to this 0x error. To assist you better, is the printer stuck at this error?

If not, then we can perform a factory reset on the printer to resolve this issue. You should be able to access the home screen of the printer to do this.

On the printer control panel display, from the Home screen, swipe left to select Setup

Touch Tools, touch  Restore Factory Defaults, and then follow the onscreen instructions.

If the printer is stuck on the error, check for any jams inside the printer, refer to - Paper Jam Error

Make sure the print carriage is moving freely - Carriage jam or E3 error

If the error persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware failure.

If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

Hello Kumar0307

I tried all the options presented including a factory reset and each case the issue did not get resolved

I have since purchased a new printer and will retire the old printer

Thanks for the tips, although not a good solution I will consider the solution delivered
