This printer is only used as a fax and a copier.  It is not hooked up to a computer.  Today it decided that I need to contact Instant Ink and would not print.  I have another cartridge which I replaced the old one out.   It kept giving me the Instant Ink routine and then it decided to give me the error code.  After a full hour trying to get support from HP, I wound up here, but none of the suggestions I've seen so far are working.  I'm ready to throw it through a window, TBH.  And WHERE is the model number on this thing?  I've got 8 million numbers off it, but none seems to be the model number.  Please help - soon.  I need it to work today and, frankly, I don't have 5 hours to try and figure it out.

Thank you.

Hi @SMDawson

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

Refer to this document to know how to find the Product Name or Product Number.

Have you checked your HP Instant Ink account page? Your Instant Ink account page will have notifications if there are any issues with the account or recent cartridge shipment, it will even provide solutions on how to fix the issue. You may log in to your HP Instant Ink account page from here.

Restart the network devices

  1. Turn off the Router and Printer
  2. Wait for 60 seconds.
  3. Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.
  4. Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself.
  5. Check if the error persists.

As the issue is related to Instant ink cartridges, I need more information to help you out.

Since the instant ink account details are confidential, please send me the required information via private message.
