I have installed new 952XL cartridges from Costco in my OfficeJet 8715 Printer but am still getting the "Use new cartridges for Startup" message.  Can I bypass this?

Are you trying to setup the printer for the first time? If so, use the setup ink cartridges that came with the printer.

The ink cartridges that go with the printers are setup ink cartridges that are designed to initialize the printer. These cartridges are not available in stores.

If you have printed before using this printer, proceed to the next step.

 

Let us try resetting the printer to bypass this message.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
