HP2130 Deskjet All In One

I have an HP 2130 series All In One printer that is installed on Windows 10 Pro.
It has worked well and faultlessly since I purchased it new, about the time they came onto the market.

I recently attempted to print a page and - nothing happened. I have been a system engineer with Windows operating systems since version 3.1 came out.

I could not fix the issue, and completely removed the printer software and re-installed from the original software disc. Same problem.

I removed and re-installed using the installation package downloaded from HP.

Same problem.

HP Printer Assistant reports printer status as Ready.

I can access all printer settings etc.

The printer is working fine, as it DOES print a diagnostic page. However, it does NOT print a Test page from the Printer properties control panel.

Documents sent to the printer show as 'Printing' in the what's printing window and then show as 'Deleting' and vanish, but nothing gets printed.

There was a windows update released in January. Prior to that I had no issues printing and wonder if the update caused the issue?

Has anyone encountered this situation and been able to fix it?

Rgds
