I have uninstalled and installed this printer many times

It's telling me i have a script error for the 1st time

I have been at this for about a week and a half and can't print. I am weary from it all

Does anybody out there know how to fix this?

I recently upgraded to windows 7 from windows visa

Could there be something in the files that is not uninstalling or is there something wrong with a gremlin that might be sick?

I sure need help from someone that can help me fix this.

Woe is me

@SANDYFEET, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Step 1: Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to automatically diagnose and resolve printer hardware and connection issues.

If the error persists, continue to the next step.

Step 2: Install the software patch manually

Select your operating system, and then install a software patch.

  1. On your computer, click the Windows icon (), and then click Run.

  2. In the Run dialog box, type regedit, and then click OK. The Registry Editor window opens.

  3. Click File, and then click Export. The Export Registry File window opens.

  4. From the Save in: dropdown menu, select Desktop.

  5. In the File name: box, type backup.

  6. In the Save as type: dropdown menu, select Registration Files (*.reg).

  7. For Export range, select All, and then click Save.

    NOTE:

You can delete this file once the issue has been resolved.

  8. On your computer, click the Start icon (), click Accessories, and then click Notepad. A Notepad window opens.

  9. Copy the following text, and then paste it in Notepad.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.hta]

    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htafile]

    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.hta]

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.hta] "PerceivedType"="text" @="htafile" "Content Type"="application/hta"
