I use my portable printer often in my car. I used it in the morning and it worked fine. I went to use it the same evening and nothing. Everything appeared to work, lights on. It will copy and print things from the printer, but it will not recognize my laptop. I got a USB Surge warning which I had never seen before, unplugged replugged and it came one other time. I thought the cord may have been compromised, so I tried another cord and it still did not work. I then waited till I returned to my office and tried the printer on my other PC, tried multiple cords, I could not recognize the printer with the cord. My thought is the contact where the cord plugs into the printer must have been compromised, but I have no way to check or repair that. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Or possibly something between the cord and the brain. Is there a reset button on the printer?

I went to the PC repair store and dropped off my HP250 to see if they could help resolve my problem. Aparently the plastic center of the plug has broken out. My ignorance of what the plug in is supposed to look like is the problem. Looking for a part and it should be fixed in a couple of days.. Thanks for your help.

Hello Again, I just reset the printer to factory defaults and my pc still does not recognize the printer. It will make a copy and print the informational pages. I can print bluetooth frommy phone, just no hook up between my PC and the printer via cable.
Thanks for the info... going to try a PC uninstall and reinstall hardware later today..
