I have just installed new HP cartridges to my HP Deskjet 2620 and the print level indicator says they are empty.

I have cleaned the terminals and update the software.

A single cartridge makes no difference

The printer worked perfectly before I installed these cartridges.

@Davcam, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

Some releases of ink cartridges are not compatible with older versions of printer firmware. Update the firmware to resolve this problem.

To update or upgrade your printer's firmware, go to Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware.

 

If the issue persists, try troubleshooting steps from this document.
