Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello! I had a paper jam, fixed it then it began to successfully print my page but stopped abruptly and shot my paper out!

Ive tried all of the unplugging and taking the ink cartridges out. There is no jam either.

it acting as if it’s not getting the message to print from my laptop. My laptop shows a box that says “Printer in error state” but there is no error code on my printer.

When I try to click on the printer symbol to delete cue it is super slow, and when I try to delete them it just says “not responding”

This happened once before and my friend fixed it but I can’t get in contact with him right now.

Hi @XxepiphanyxX, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP DeskJet 2655 is stuck in an error state, possibly due to a print queue issue or a communication problem. Try these steps to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Restart Printer and Laptop

  1. Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Restart your laptop and wait for it to fully boot up.
  3. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Step 2: Clear the Print Queue

  1. Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Scroll down and find "Print Spooler".
  3. Right-click it and select "Stop".
  4. Open File Explorer, go to: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
(If prompted for permission, click Continue).
  5. Delete all files in this folder.
  6. Go back to Services, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start.

Step 3: Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  1. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  2. Run it and follow the on-screen instructions to detect and fix issues.

Step 4: Check Printer Status

  1. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Click on HP DeskJet 2655, then Open Queue.
  3. If any jobs are stuck, right-click and cancel them.
  4. Ensure "Use Printer Offline" is unchecked.

Step 5: Reinstall the Printer

  1. Remove the printer from Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Uninstall HP drivers from Control Panel > Programs & Features.
  3. Restart your laptop.
  4. Reinstall the latest drivers from HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
