Hi everyone.

Im using HP ENVY 5530 and have used TRI-COLOUR pack and within 20 sheets i have finished the ink?

I have been printing 6x6 ( 2 of them per page a4) coloured compositions to be printed onto adhesive glossy paper. I am printing through Adobe Illustrator, with generic presets, quality at half way but selected glossy paper.

I understand what I'm doing is very ink heavy but I'm shocked at 20 pages then fully gone!! This doesnt seem right? even on the packaging it states 165 pages* . I just kind of feel robbed to be honest. Can anyone suggest something I've done wrong?

Thanks

@jlevski, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I would suggest a few things:  first, replace the cartridges when the print quality deteriorates, not when the first warning happens.  The warning is set to be sure to give a warning before the ink runs out so you have time to get a replacement.  You do not need to replace the cartridge when you first get the message.

Next, do not run cleaning cycles on the printer unless print quality deteriorates.  Running unneeded cleaning cycles uses ink unnecessarily.

Do not turn the printer off with an external switch.  If an external switch (such as a power outlet switch or a power director switch) is used extra servicing will be used.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
