I am trying to reinstall my hp 3050 j611 printer on my old windows 7 computer. It goes through all the motions but after it asks about ink alerts & maybe 2 screens after that, it doesn't complete the last step. It connected successfully to my wifi network & looks like it's going to finish loading, but it doesn't. My computer says windows 7 & the printer recognizes my computer as being windows 7.

Hi @recordalley,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you are facing issues with your HP Deskjet 3050A e-All-in-One Printer wherein the driver installation stops at the last step.
This issue could occur if the drivers are not installed properly.
Let's go through a few steps to uninstall and reinstall the drivers:
Step 1: Uninstall the Drivers:
Please follow the steps provided to uninstall the printer software in the link: Uninstalling the Printer Software (Windows)
Also, please follow the steps provided below to completely remove the printer software from printer properties.
Steps to remove printer driver files from Print Server Properties:
1. Open the Print Server Properties dialog window by doing any one of the following:
(a). Press WINDOWS-R on the keyboard to bring up the Run window, type in 'printui /s /t2' (without the quotes), and then press Enter or click OK.
(b) From the Start menu or the Start screen and open Devices and Printers. Select any printer and then click "Print server properties" at the top of the window. Click on the Drivers tab.
2. Select the printer driver you wish to uninstall.
3. Click the Remove button.
4. Select "Remove driver and driver package" and click OK.
Step 2: Download and install the Drivers from the link: Full Feature Software and Driver
Let me know how this works.
You have a good day ahead.

Hello & thank you for responding. I followed your exact instructions & it still gets stuck after the screen that shows country & language & then nothing after that. I had trouble finding the remove driver & package but I finally did & tried it again but it still gets stuck after the country & language screen. I have old c3100 & 4700 printers listed but it wont remove them b/c it says they are in use...maybe thats a clue

Hi again, that takes me to the same dead end, actually one screen less, didn't make it to the language screen. I don't use this computer much, has old copy of quickbooks that my wife uses to print statements mostly so I can just plug it in when we need it. the printer is right next to the laptop.I wanted to thank you for all your help on this matter. I'll always be a HP man thanks to the great support you have, especially on out of warranty printers. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Jim
