HP Ink Tank 315

IMG_7117.jpgso i just buying HP 315, it does support Borderless Printing, Been testing Default Borderless Print on Plain Paper, it does work but the Ink are too dense and the paper are just like melting because its printing in High Quality/Normal Quality (Really Slow).

i'am about to print Matrix Pages, its a huge 5m art wall with A4 paper with Matrix Printing, quality doesn't matter because its a huge printing which on distance looks good, while i set manual preset, it shows error (conflict because can't set preset to borderless with Plain Paper which is dumb), what can i do?

and the ink level are blank,is that normal?Capturddde.PNGCapture.PNG

Hi @YehezkielLegowo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with a few different issues with your HP 315 printer regarding borderless printing, print quality, and ink levels. Here’s how you can address each issue:

1. Addressing Borderless Printing on Plain Paper

  • Check Paper Type: For borderless printing, ensure that you’re using the appropriate paper type. Plain paper may not always support borderless printing optimally, especially with high ink density.
  • Select Paper Type Correctly: In your printer settings, select a paper type that matches your actual paper (e.g., Glossy Photo Paper, if you're using photo paper). For plain paper, you might want to avoid borderless printing if it’s not working well.
  • Change Print Quality: If high quality is causing issues, switch to a lower quality setting. This can often be done in the printer settings or software:
    • Go to your printer’s properties/settings from the print dialog box.
    • Choose a lower print quality option like “Draft” or “Economy.”
  • Borderless Printing: If you’re still having trouble with borderless printing on plain paper, try adjusting your manual preset settings:
    • Go to the printer’s settings or print preferences.
    • Set it to print borderless, but also check if there are options to adjust paper type and quality that can better accommodate plain paper.
  • Firmware Updates: Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes firmware updates can resolve issues with printing settings and compatibility.

2. Printing Large Art Wall with A4 Paper

  • Tile Printing: For large prints like a 5-meter art wall, consider using a tiling feature, where the image is split into multiple pages and then assembled:
    • Use software that supports tiling or poster printing (like Adobe Acrobat or specific design software).
    • Adjust the settings to ensure it divides the image into sections that fit on A4 paper.
  • Quality Settings: Since quality doesn’t matter much for your large print, switch to draft mode to save ink and speed up printing:
    • Go to the print settings and select a lower quality mode.

3. Ink Levels Displaying as Blank

  • Inspect Cartridges: Remove and reinstall the ink cartridges. Ensure they are properly seated and there’s no protective tape or packaging still attached.
  • Clean Contacts: Gently clean the contacts on the cartridges and in the printer with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Software Update: Make sure your printer software and firmware are up to date, as updates can resolve issues with ink level detection.
  • Run Diagnostics: Use the printer’s diagnostic tools or the HP Smart app to check ink levels and perform any necessary maintenance.
  • Replace if Necessary: If the ink levels still appear blank and you’ve checked everything, consider replacing the cartridges. Sometimes the ink sensors can fail, leading to inaccurate readings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
