I am unable to have my image print fully on 4x6 photo paper. I've tried:
- Mac Pro with High Sierra, and a Windows 10 PC.
- Document created in Photoshop, and same layout created in Microsoft Word - they both have similar printing problem
- Printing from Photoshop, from Word, and as a PDF
- Printing from HP software on Windows 10
- Paper is 230g glossy photo paper
Issue: Only about 1/3 to 1/2 of the image is printing on the 4x6 paper. It's as though the printing is beginning before the paper reaches the printing heads, so that by the time the paper arrives some of the image has already been missed.
I have no issues printing to A4.
I am selecting 4x6 in the driver, and the preview is correct.
I followed an HP video and carefully cleaned the 4 rollers inside the machine (above the ink chamber) and the rollers on the underneath side of the printer. Both sets of rollers were cleaned with water and sideways (right to left) motion. The inside rollers were cleaned with a cloth, the bottom roller with q-tip.
The paper is feeding through, not jamming. I do not know if the problem is some type of calibration issue, meaning that the printer doesn't know when the paper is where it's supposed to be, or if this is a paper intake issue, and the paper just isn't being taken in quickly enough. I would assume the printer is intelligent enough to know whether the paper has been fed in far enough before it begins printing, but who knows.
Note: The image prints perfectly in a 4x6" area if I print it to an A4 sheet, so the whole image is being sent to the printer.
If I can't troubleshoot this, I'll have to get a new printer - there is urgency in my need to print out 4x6 prints. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to HP Community
I have gone through your Post and would like to help
Please uninstall the printer driver from root level and download the full feature software
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer and download the Full Feature Software from https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL48447/mp-117582-4/DJ3540_188.exe and follow the onscreen Instructions
Also ensure the printer has the latest Firmware. Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Your solution didn't change anything. The printer has up-to-date firmware. I uninstalled and then fully installed the HP driver and software on 2 PCs. The second one had never had the HP software on it in the first place. I'm getting the same problem.
I don't see how to add attachments here to show you the issue, so here are links to screenshots:
1) The print preview, which shows the proper setup (how it should print)

2) Two actual printouts. As you can see they are both cut off, but to different degrees, which would suggest a paper feed issue to me.

I've cleaned rollers inside and underneath the printer. I don't know what else to do. Is this printer capable of 230gram photo paper 4x6"?

@macnmotion, that's unfortunate. If the issue persists, please reach out to the HP Support in your region for further assistance.
To know supported paper types and paper size, check paper-handling section under the product specifications page.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
