HP3830 Printing Double Sided with WiFi connection didn't complete. computer disconnected and reconnected.  Now when computer is reconnected, it prints only the first page, but there is no prompt on the computer to continue printing the second side after removing and re-inserting the paper.

Hi @Timgineer,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for clarifying. Since you're using manual duplex (double-sided) printing on an HP OfficeJet 3830 and the prompt to insert the paper for the second side no longer appears after a Wi-Fi disconnect, this is likely a driver or print queue issue caused by the connection interruption. Here's how to fix it:

1. Restart and Clear Print Queue

  • Restart your printer (power it off, wait 30 seconds, power it on).
  • On your PC:
    • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    • Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click, and choose Restart.
    • This clears stuck jobs that might interfere with duplex prompts.

2. Uninstall & Reinstall Printer Driver

This ensures Windows has the correct driver with duplex support.

  1. Uninstall Existing Printer
    • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners
    • Click on HP Officejet 3830 > Remove
  2. Download the Latest Driver
  3. Install it and follow the prompts to reconnect your printer via Wi-Fi

3. Enable Manual Duplex Printing

  1. Open any document (e.g., in Word or Adobe).
  2. Press Ctrl + P to open the print menu.
  3. Select your printer and click Printer Properties or Preferences.
  4. Enable:
    • Print on Both Sides (Manually) or
    • Manual Duplex
  5. Print the document.

You should now be prompted to reinsert the paper after the first side prints.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
