Using my new hp 3830 printer and trying to print from Motorola Moto X Pure with android 7 os

installed hp smart and printer plug-in on phone and bluetooth is on.

when trying to print a google document from google drive  it shows a list but only high-lights the first document and i can't get it to let me go to a different document. tapping does nothing.  

Found the document on my phone in documents.. tried to print it from there but when it went to the settings (choose paper size etc) it said the printer wasn't available.  The printer is on and lit up.

Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart App and try again.
