Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello! My HP 3835 Stopped printing! HELP!

Win 10 Pro Fully updated (and legal). Reinstalled all drivers and softwares 3 times and it will not pront from Word or Acrobat or even Notepad...

It does print when I send a diagnostic test print, but not from any other programs. Print spooler and RPC are running in Services.

What else can I do before I'm ditching HP and trying out the competition?

Thank you!

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are unable to print, and I am glad to assist you.

This seems to be a driver issue.

Did you uninstall the printer driver from the root level before installing the new driver?

If not, follow these steps:-

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

Hello!

Well thank you! your suggestions worked!

BUT, when printing from WORD or Photohsop, when I choose from the drop-down menu the printer, which shows up as:

HP4FDAF4(HP DeskJet  series) - for some inexplicable reason it prints only in black and white.

When choosing the "HP Smart Printing", it prints in color, which means the driver alone without the HP Smart software, is ineffective. Why must I install another program to print properly? I also have a Canon printer and the basic driver works just fine...

Anyway, thanks again!

As I said this seems to be a driver issue.

The old printer driver is not updated, that is why it is not printing in color.

However, the HP Smart app is an updated application and compatible with your printer.

Keep me posted.

Cheers.
