Hi @mom4greyhounds,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've covered some basic troubleshooting steps already. Since your HP Deskjet 4158e is connected to Wi-Fi and documents are going to the print queue but not printing, here are a few additional steps you can try.

  • Check Printer Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or device. You might want to double-check the Wi-Fi settings on the printer to ensure it's connected to the correct network.
  • Printer Status: Check if there are any error messages or warnings displayed on the printer's control panel. This can give you clues about what might be causing the issue.
  • Printer Drivers: Make sure that the printer drivers on your computer are up to date. Sometimes, outdated or corrupted drivers can cause printing problems. You can usually download the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Restart Devices: Try restarting both your printer and your computer or device. Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Reset Printer: If the issue persists, you might want to try resetting the printer to its factory defaults. This can often resolve various problems. Refer to your printer's manual or HP's support website for instructions on how to reset your specific model.
  • Firewall/Antivirus: Occasionally, firewall or antivirus software can block communication between your computer and printer. Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software on your computer and see if that resolves the issue.
  • Network Configuration: If you've changed routers, there might be some network configuration issues. Ensure that the new router is properly configured to allow communication with the printer. You may need to check settings such as DHCP, IP address assignments, and network security settings.
  • Test with Another Device: If possible, try printing from another device to see if the issue is specific to one device or if it's a broader issue with the printer or network.
  • HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP provides a diagnostic tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor, which can help identify and resolve printing problems. You can download it from the HP website and run it to see if it detects any issues with your printer setup.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
