Hi @RGW5,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are facing issues with the Printer in error state.

It sounds like your HP DeskJet 4123e printer is displaying a steady red light, and your computer is showing a printer error message. A steady red light on an HP printer usually indicates an error or an issue that needs attention.

To troubleshoot this, you can try the following steps:

Check for paper jams: Open the printer's access door and check for any paper jams. Remove any jammed paper carefully.

Check ink or toner levels: Ensure that the ink or toner cartridges are not empty or low. Replace any empty cartridges with new ones.

Restart the printer: Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary issues.

Check for firmware/driver updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can check for updates on the HP support website.

Reset the printer: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the printer to its factory settings.

If the issue persists, you may need to contact HP support for further assistance, as there could be a hardware issue with the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
