My HP 4158 Deskjet is print blank pages with brand new cartridges.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet Plus 4158 All-in-One Printer is printing blank pages despite having brand-new cartridges, here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:
 

1. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Make sure the cartridges are installed correctly.
  • Open the printer's cartridge door and verify the cartridges are seated properly.
  • Remove and reinstall the cartridges to ensure they're securely in place.

2. Run Printer Head Cleaning

  • Open the HP Smart app or printer software on your computer.
  • Go to Tools or Maintenance, and find the option to clean the printhead.
  • Run the cleaning process 1-2 times. This should resolve any clogged ink nozzles.

3. Align the Printhead

  • After cleaning, align the printhead through the printer settings:
    • Go to Printer Maintenance in the HP Smart app.
    • Select Align Printhead.
  • This will help improve print quality and ink flow.

4. Check for Ink Smudging

  • Print a test page or alignment page.
  • Check for any ink smudges or partial prints. If nothing is printed, try running the cleaning again.

5. Use Genuine HP Ink

  • Ensure that the cartridges are genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP cartridges may not work correctly.
  • If you've recently changed the ink cartridges, double-check the packaging and confirm they're compatible with the DeskJet Plus 4158 model.

6. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Sometimes, a reset can clear any internal errors.

7. Check Ink Levels

  • Use the HP Smart app or your computer’s printer settings to check the ink levels of the cartridges. Even new cartridges may be faulty or not properly filled.

8. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Check if there are any firmware updates for your printer. Outdated firmware may cause printing issues.
  • You can update the firmware via the HP Smart app or by visiting HP’s website.

9. Print Directly from a Computer

  • Ensure that the issue is not software-related by printing directly from your computer instead of through the network.
