I was just printing certificates on paper on which I had printed a coloured watermark and printed off half a dozen. Then I adjusted the height of the title (to fit into a frame better) and when I printed it out it just printed the text without the watermark. The document is a .docx
I have checked EVERYTHING in Properties, Preferences, etc., and it is set to print background pictures - but still won't print the watermark with the text now.
Please can someone help?
Thank you.

Reply to Barachiel:
I have tried your link and the items in that are not relevant.
As I said, I tried all sorts of things and checked everything before posting, but it still won't work as it did before. I just can't see how adding 1 line of text should throw everything awry.
I have only had this printer a few weeks and I HATE IT. It is very limited in functions, doesn't print on legal size paper, and seems determined to reset to default settings all the time, so I have to check every single time I want to print anything that is not 6" x 4". Yes, even though I have saved customised settings in the shortcuts. These usually come up with a 'conflict' message anyway.
Plus, the support for it is most unsatisfactory.
I shall probably just give up and buy another. 😞

Hi @Hibiscus606,
It looks like you were interacting with @Barachiel , but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out,
I'm the Jeet_Singh & I'm at your service.
As I understand you have followed the steps suggested and still having the issue. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue. I would like to know did the issue start after a recent software update?
If so, this could be an issue with the drivers. Let's try to perform a clean install on the printer drivers:
First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Photosmart printer entries and uninstall them.
Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the HP printer entries and remove the device.
Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any HP printer entry there as well.
Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
Restart your computer.
Now click on this link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL61235/mp-147821-1/EN5540_Full_WebPack_1119.exe and install the printer software.
Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. (This might change the default printer, you can change it as you see fit)
If Full feature software does not helps, then try to install using Windows In-built drivers
First, open Windows Device Installation Settings and confirm that your computer is set to automatically download driver software.
Search Windows for Change Device Installation, and then click the Change device installation settings Control Panel setting in the list of results.
Device Installation Settings window displays.
Select the Yes option, and then click Save Changes.
Now, follow the steps listed under step 3 here: HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Eagerly waiting for your response!
I hope you have a good day ahead,
And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.
Regards,

Re HP 5546 Printer Won't connect by WiFi
None of these options solves my printing issue, so I decided to delete everything - (thank you for details of how to do that) - and reinstall using the CD that came with the printer.
Now I have different printing options, some better (eg paper sizes are UK) and some worse (not even option for printing watermarks!) - but now the printer will only connect by USB and not with WiFi.
Presumably this means that my Instant Ink is defunct so I would really like this sorted. I have followed all the instructions and entered the correct IP but no connection. It worked on WiFi before! So why won't it now?
