I am continually getting this error message despite using original HP cartridge. It simply wont clear. Does anyone have this issue, and if so, did you manage to resolve it? I am so frustrated, particularly as I need to print something, I could throw this printer out the window!!

@Nozzille, Welcome to HP Support Community!
I understand your printer is in error state. To provide you with an accurate solution, could you share the exact error message on the screen? The image attached does not show up anything.
Meanwhile, Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks so much for replying to my desperate plea for help! The error message is "remove and reinstall indicated ink cartridge, making sure it is correctly installed, and then touch OK"
It is an original HP62XL cartridge, right out of the box.
I have downloaded all drivers and firmware, but I do that automatically.
I have cleaned the copper dots with distilled water.
I have found one or two other problems of this type on the community board, but cant quite see how they were resolved, except by using HP original cartrisges - which I already have in place.
Any help you can give is most appreciated as I hate to throw out a perfectly good printer into landfill. And I need back in service ASAP!

Thanks for replying!
If you have already performed the steps from the document Ink Cartridge Errors and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.
Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
Hope this helps!
