HP OfficeJet 5258 All-in-One Printer

I was trying to change the cartridges without going through the proper steps. I just opened it and changed out the color one without the cartridges sliding over. I was able to put in the new cartridge no problem. BUT then this error code popped up with lights blinking.

Error code: 0xc4eb8004 hw_micci2_v12

I did what other posts suggested, unplugged printer while on and then plugged directly into the wall. It worked again! I printed 3 different times yesterday.

Today I woke up to the same error code and blinking lights. I unplugged it and let it sit and plugged it back in (again directly into wall outlet) and the error is still flashing.

PLEASE HELP!! I need to print something today..

Thanks!!

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting an 0xc4eb8004 error, I am glad to assist you.

You might have to perform a semi-full reset on the printer to fix this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

I hope this helps resolve this issue completely.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
