HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-in-One Printer

own a HP Officejet 6968 and its completely useless. We have had a carriage cannot move error for months. We have updated software and followed all of the trouble shooting notes from HP and nothing work. We've printed 100 sheets lifetime on this thing and had to replace ink repeatedly and now can use it at all. Any suggestions before I order a different brand?

Hi @Hippo2000,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP Officejet 6968. If you've already tried the troubleshooting steps provided by HP and are still facing problems, here are a few additional suggestions you can consider.

Power Cycle:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back in.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Check for Obstructions:

  • Make sure there are no obstructions blocking the movement of the carriage.
  • Open the printer cover and check for any paper jams, foreign objects, or debris that might be hindering the carriage's movement.

Reset the Printer:

  • Resetting the printer to its default settings might help. Refer to your printer manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

Firmware Update:

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Check HP's official website for firmware updates and follow the instructions to update if necessary.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
